Exide Supports Europe’s Charge The Future Campaign

Europe’s bid to become climate neutral by 2050 has ushered in a period of transformation as the transition to a sustainable, low carbon economy becomes imperative. The Charge the Future campaign demonstrates how lead batteries and the lead battery industry are supporting Europe’s low carbon future.

Lead batteries are integral to essential products and services including vehicles, renewable energy storage, back-up for mobile telecoms and data centres. They are used for many other applications including industrial energy powering lift trucks as well as throughout the rail and mass transit industry.

“Exide is a strong player in manufacturing - and recycling - lead batteries that power critical transportation and industrial applications throughout Europe,” said Stefan Stubing, President of Exide’s European business. “Additionally, we are committed to technology innovation and the evolving process of improving efficiencies that support a low carbon future. It is an exciting time for our industry.”

Lead batteries are an important foundation for a new European economic model in five important areas:

  1. Innovation

  2. Industrial growth

  3. Clean mobility

  4. Clean energy

  5. Circular economy
